Wheelchair Accessibility = Good, nice and flat
The McPherson Church Road Trailhead is located in Paulding County at the intersection of McPherson Church Road and the Silver Comet Trail. The Silver Comet crosses over McPherson Church Road near mile-marker 26 on the Silver Comet Trail, and the nicely paved flat parking lot is located right next to McPherson Church Road.
There are 13 regular parking spaces, 1 ADA parking space, no water, no picnic tables, but there is a portable toilet. The Brushy Mt. Tunnel is 4-miles to the west, and the Rambo Road Trailhead is 4.5-miles to the east.
The Paulding Forest Wildlife Management Area (WMA) surrounds the Silver Comet Trail just west of the McPherson Church Road Trailhead. This quiet and beautiful section of the trail is isolated,
so please check the Safety Tips section before heading out.
The Paulding Forest WMA and Sheffield WMA offer many outdoor activities, and there are rules and various licenses that may be required depending on the season and activity. For an overview of what the WMA's have to offer and their contact information, please visit the Paulding County page. |
