Accessibility from the Silver Comet Trail
at Concord Road = not good because there's
a big hill at Concord, and a switch-back
trail leading down to Heritage Park.
Located on the corner of Fontaine and Nickajack
roads, Heritage Park is a 105-acre nature
preserve. The park is located in Smyrna,
Georgia in Cobb County.
Heritage Park's 1.7-mile walking trail has
an elevated boardwalk over wetlands, travels
through forests along Nickajack Creek, passes
the ruins of Concord Woolen Mills, and is
near the historic Concord Covered Bridge. Heritage Park is a soft surface walking trail, and doesn't allow bicycles. Areas are isolated, so please use proper safety precautions.

You can park at the Concord
Road trailhead and walk east about 0.2
miles to access the the park. The entrance
is on the east lane of the Silver Comet,
just past the wooden Concord Road bridge,
and before the metal East-West Connector
bridge. This section of Heritage Park includes
views of Nickajack creek and the Concord
Woolen Mill ruins.
Parking, nice restrooms and picnic areas
are available at the park entrance located
at the corner of Fontaine Road and Nickajack
Road. This section of Heritage Park has
a boardwalk over wetlands, and offers a
nice stroll through forests. |
